The bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is an undesirable effect which
was mentioned by specialist literature for the first time in 2003.
The management of this pathology remains difficult considering the serious implications it can
have and the complexity of its lesions. through a Moroccan study of 36 cases, The authors would
like to insist on the importance of preventative measures and recommend carrying out studies on
a significant sample size, which would help identify the risk factors in case of BRONJ and the
characteristics of at-risk patients who may need alternative therapy.

Osteomyelitis is an inflammatory condition of bone tissue. This pathology in children in temporary or
mixed dentition is difficult to treat because of the existence of a precarious immune system coupled
with late consultations. The aim of this study was to contribute to the improvement of the
management of mandibular osteomyelitis of infectious origin in children. However osteomyelitis of
dental origin in the child are infrequent pathologies in our daily consultations. But in this study we
recorded 25 out of 224 cases, representing a frequency of 11.16% of patients with mandibular
osteomyelitis of infectious origin at the Ignace Deen National Hospital. The male sex was the most
represented with a frequency of 60% against 40% of females is a sex ratio H / F of 1.5. The age
group of 13 to 17 years was the most represented at 52%. Swelling was the main reason for
consultation. The treatment was mainly medical and surgical.

Prescription is the act by which the practitioner orders the patient to produce officinal products or
magistral preparations according to the weight and age of the child.
The objective of this study was to contribute to the improvement of drug prescription in children in a
dental consultation in Conakry.
This is a descriptive study conducted in the dental department of the University of Conakry over a
period of 6 months in children aged 1 to 12 years who have received a medical prescription for the
management of oral pathology dental.
During the study we obtained 38.7% of cases irreversible pulpitis and 19.6% of cases of
desmodontitis. However, 15% of children in our sample were premedicated; the most used
pharmaceutical classes were analgesics followed by antibiotics with 43.5% and 40.3% respectively.
The drug prescription after the act was dominated by 43.7% analgesics, 39.6% antibiotics and 16.5%
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
The compliance ratio of the prescribed molecules with the diagnosis was 55.4% compliant
prescriptions against 44.6% non-compliant prescriptions.

Abstract

Periapical radiolucent lesions of endodontic origin are defined as an inflammatory lesion of the
periradicular deep periodontium mainly of the periapical region, due to bacterial infection of the
endodontium.
Endodontic treatment is the therapy of first intention for such lesions.
A better knowledge of histological periapical lesions and its determinants allows asserting that
surgical treatment of periapical lesions are necessary and complementary in orthograde endodontic
treatments.

INTRODUCTION:
Effective management of periodontal emergencies aids in both the patient’s physical and
psychological well being. The objective of this work was to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and
practices of dental surgeons in Dakar regarding pericoronitis.
MATERIELS AND METHODS:
This was a cross-sectional, descriptive survey of dental surgeons in the Dakar region and working in
private, public and parapublic structures. Inclusion was based on the official list of the National Order
of Dental Surgeons of Senegal (NODC) of the year 2015 in the region of Dakar, and the health
service of the Senegalese Armies.
RESULTS:
The sample consisted of 122 dental surgeons of which 65 were men. The public sector is the most
representative with a percentage of 44.26%. In our sample, 84.43% prescribed antibiotics, 84.43%
analgesics, and 41.80% deterged lesions with 10-volume hydrogen peroxide-impregnated pellets.
However 64.75% of dentists excised of the mucous cap in emergency.
CONCLUSION:
Management of pericoronitis is not always consistent with current scientific recommendations. In
order not to compromise the healing potential of the periodontium, continuing education of
Senegalese dental surgeons should be an ethical and legal imperative.
